To make an appointment, you can call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Alternatively, you can visit their website at www.ssa.gov and use the “Find an Office” tool to locate your local office and schedule an appointment online.
During your appointment, you will need to bring some documents with you, including your mother’s death certificate and your own identification. The Social Security Administration will use this information to update your records and provide any benefits you may be eligible for.
