My experience at Hackensack NJ Social Security Office – JAYA

I WAS IN THE Hackensack SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE TODAY, 10/06/2014, TO SUBMIT A APPLICATION FOR REPLACEMENT/NAME CHANGE CARD.  I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 30 DAYS TO PROCESS AND SEND THE NEW CARD.  I WAS THERE PREVIOUSLY TWO OCCASIONS JUST WASTING MY TIME SINCE I DID NOT SUBMIT PROPER DOCUMENTS.  I WAS NEVER TOLD BEFORE THAT TO TRANSLATE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES TO ENGLISH TAKES LONGER.  IN MY FIRST VISIT TO THE SS OFFICE, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD SEND IT WITHIN 14 WORKING DAYS. MY QUESTION IS WHY????? NOW THEY NEED 30 DAYS TO ISSUE THE NEW CARD?  I WOULD APPRECIATE A REASONABLE EXPLANATION.  PLEASE CONSIDER SENDING THE RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING EMAIL ADDRESS: APM*****@YAHOO.COM

THANKS
SINCERELY,
MRS.A.JAYAWARDHANA

  1. Can I apply for a replacement social security card online? I have the form filled out and signed, can I fax it to my local social security office or do I need to make an appointment?
